About the Stadium Series
The NHL Stadium Series takes a regular-season game out of the arena and into a football stadium, with a rink built on the field and tens of thousands of fans around it. The 2027 game is the second time the Stars and the state of Texas have hosted an NHL outdoor game. The first was the 2020 Winter Classic at the Cotton Bowl, where Dallas beat Nashville 4-2 in front of a sold-out crowd of 85,630.
The opponent is a real rival. The Stars and the Golden Knights have met in the Stanley Cup Playoffs three times since Vegas joined the league in 2017, twice with a place in the Stanley Cup Final at stake, and Dallas won their 2020 Western Conference Final in five games. It is the Golden Knights’ third outdoor game, after a 3-2 loss to Colorado at Lake Tahoe in 2021 and a 3-0 loss to Seattle in the 2024 Winter Classic.
The stadium seats about 80,000 for major events and can expand well beyond that with standing room, which is why outdoor games here have the potential to draw one of the largest crowds in NHL history. Expect a festival atmosphere around the stadium before the puck drops.
Where to Sit
For hockey, the rink sits on the stadium floor and seats surround it. The 100 level is the closest seated ring to the ice, the 200 and 300 levels give the best balance of view and price, and the 400 level and standing-room areas are the budget way in. Because the stadium’s two huge arches remove interior columns, there are no pillars blocking the view.

Getting to AT&T Stadium
AT&T Stadium is in Arlington’s Entertainment District, roughly midway between downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth and about 10 miles south of DFW Airport. Arlington has no rail service to the stadium, so nearly everyone arrives by car or rideshare. You can buy parking in advance through the stadium’s official parking page, which also lists rideshare and drop-off zones. Where to Stay
The Arlington Entertainment District is the simplest base: the stadium, Globe Life Field and Texas Live! are all within walking distance of each other, so you can walk to the game and skip the parking and rideshare queues. Loews Arlington Hotel sits inside Texas Live! and is the closest full-service option, and options such as the Drury Plaza Hotel Dallas Arlington trade a short drive for lower prices. For more nightlife and dining, downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas (where the Omni Dallas Hotel is a popular base) are each roughly 20-30 minutes away by car. Because this is a Saturday-night game, and Golden Knights fans will be travelling in from Las Vegas, book early and stay overnight close to the stadium.

Things to Do Around the Game
Make a weekend of it. The Entertainment District has Globe Life Field, Texas Live! and Six Flags Over Texas within a short drive, and downtown Dallas and Fort Worth’s Stockyards are about 20 minutes away.
