The Game: Cowboys vs Buccaneers Preview
The Cowboys come to this game off a road test at the Houston Texans in Week 4, which leaves them with a short turnaround before hosting Tampa Bay on Thursday night. That makes depth, recovery and the first-half game plan more important than usual, and it is a stern early test for Christian Parker’s new-look defense.
Tampa Bay, coached by Todd Bowles and led by quarterback Baker Mayfield, missed the playoffs in 2025 for the first time under Bowles, and opened 2026 with a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. New offensive coordinator Zac Robinson is trying to keep Mayfield’s offense productive while cutting the turnovers that hurt the Bucs in Week 1, so this game should reveal a lot about how both teams have developed by early October.

Dallas won the first eight meetings from 1976 to 1990, then Tampa Bay won three straight from 2000 to 2003. The teams have met in the playoffs three times and Dallas won all three, eliminating the Bucs in 1981, 1982 and 2022, the last of those a 31-14 wild-card win in Tampa in January 2023.
The most memorable regular-season meeting in recent years was the 2021 season kickoff game, when Tom Brady drove the defending Super Bowl champions down the field for a last-minute 31-29 win, and Tampa Bay also beat Dallas 19-3 at AT&T Stadium to open the 2022 season.
Getting to AT&T Stadium
AT&T Stadium is in Arlington’s Entertainment District, roughly midway between downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth and about 10 miles south of DFW Airport. Arlington has no rail service to the stadium, so nearly everyone arrives by car or rideshare. Lots generally open about five hours before Cowboys games (2:15 PM CT for this one), and you can buy parking in advance through the stadium’s official parking page. Where to Sit
For football, sideline seats in the 200 and 300 levels give the best balance of view and price: high enough to see plays develop, low enough to feel the crowd. The 100 level is the closest seated ring, the 400 level and the standing-room areas are the budget way in, and thanks to the stadium’s two huge arches there are no interior columns blocking the view. Bags are limited to clear totes up to 12″ x 6″ x 12″, one-gallon clear bags or small clutches.

The Arlington Entertainment District is the simplest base: the stadium, Globe Life Field and Texas Live! are all within walking distance of each other, so you can walk to the game and skip the parking and rideshare queues.
