The Game: Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Preview
Atlanta and Tampa Bay close out the regular home slate as I-75 rivals in a series that has stayed remarkably close for over two decades. Late-December NFC South games regularly carry playoff and draft-positioning stakes, so expect this one to matter whatever each team’s record looks like by then.
Head-to-Head: Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
| Stat | Record |
|---|---|
| All-time series | Falcons lead 33-32 (all-time) |
Nicknamed the ‘I-75 Rivalry’ since Atlanta and Tampa sit along the same interstate, this NFC South clash is one of the most evenly matched series in the division — neither team has ever led by more than five wins.
Getting to Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Mercedes-Benz Stadium sits in downtown Atlanta, within walking distance of most downtown hotels and served directly by two MARTA stations. For directions, MARTA routes and accessibility, see our complete Mercedes-Benz Stadium guide.

Where to Sit
Sideline seats in the 100 or 200 level give the best balance of view and price for football. The Mercedes-Benz Club and Delta Sky360° Club run the two sidelines for a premium experience, and because the roof design removes interior columns, sightlines stay clean even from the upper deck. Bags are limited to clear totes up to 12″ x 6″ x 12″, one-gallon clear bags or small clutches.

Where to Stay
Downtown Atlanta is the simplest base: the stadium, Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium and State Farm Arena are all within walking distance of each other, and two MARTA stations sit right outside the stadium doors. The Centennial Olympic Park and Georgia World Congress Center areas are closest of all, a 10-15 minute walk from the stadium. Midtown Atlanta trades a short MARTA ride for more restaurants and nightlife. This is a Week 16 game on a Sunday, so most visitors arrive the day before and leave that evening or the following morning.
Use the interactive map below to compare hotels and apartments around the stadium for your dates:
Things to Do Around the Game
Make a weekend of it. Downtown Atlanta has Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola and State Farm Arena all within a short walk, and the BeltLine connects several more neighborhoods on foot and by streetcar if you have extra time. On a non-event day you can also tour Mercedes-Benz Stadium itself.
Book a Mercedes-Benz Stadium tour, an Atlanta city sightseeing experience, or skip-the-line tickets to the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola. Check live availability below.
