• Metrolink tram: the closest stop is Old Trafford, around a 10-15 minute walk from the ground. From Manchester Piccadilly (the city’s main station), take the Metrolink westbound towards Old Trafford — allow around 30 minutes door to door.
• Train: Manchester Piccadilly is the nearest major station (about 3.5 miles from the ground); Manchester Oxford Road is slightly closer (2.7 miles). Both connect onto the Metrolink for the final leg.
• Bus: routes 79, 255, 256, 263, 250 and X50 all connect Old Trafford with Manchester city centre.
• On foot: if you’re staying centrally, it’s a long walk — most fans combine a tram ride with the final stretch on foot alongside the crowd along Sir Matt Busby Way.

Old Trafford’s four stands each offer a different matchday experience. The Stretford End (West) is traditionally where the most vocal home fans gather and delivers the loudest atmosphere. The Sir Alex Ferguson Stand (North) is the largest and most premium, with the best overall sightlines. The Sir Bobby Charlton Stand (South) is the only single-tier stand, closest to the pitch at that end. The East Stand offers a good side-on view at a typically more accessible price point. As with most Premier League grounds, avoid the very front rows if you want to see the whole pitch rather than just the near touchline.
