Broadway Tickets: The Complete NYC Show Guide
Broadway tickets NYC, all in one place: every major show currently on (and just off) Broadway, plus the best of the rest of NYC’s stages — each one linked straight through to tickets.
Broadway tickets NYC change fast — shows open, close and transfer theatres throughout the year, so this list is built to be revisited rather than read once. Where we have a detailed Route & Stay show guide, the card opens that guide; other cards link directly to tickets through our partner, HelloTickets.
A quick note on pricing: because HelloTickets aggregates both box-office and resale listings, prices can land above or below face value depending on demand — always check the seat location and total price before you confirm.

Check Tickets & PricesHow to Buy Broadway Tickets NYC
- Book 2–6 weeks ahead for the biggest hits (Hamilton, Wicked, Hadestown, The Outsiders) — prime weekend evening seats sell out first.
- Weeknight and matinee performances are usually the easiest to find and the best value — most shows run Tuesday–Sunday with matinees on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday around 2pm, evenings around 7–8pm.
- Seating tiers run roughly Orchestra (closest, priciest) → Front Mezzanine → Rear Mezzanine/Balcony (furthest, cheapest) — a good rear mezzanine seat is often better value than a side orchestra seat.
- Same-day discounts exist (the TKTS booth in Times Square sells unsold seats at a markdown) but selection is a gamble and queues can run long — booking ahead guarantees the show and the seat.
- Most shows run 2–3 hours including one intermission — check the specific runtime if you have a tight schedule either side.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book Broadway tickets?
For the biggest hits, 2–6 weeks ahead is safest, especially for weekend evenings. Newer or lower-demand shows can often be booked just a few days out.
What’s the difference between orchestra, mezzanine and balcony seats?
Orchestra is ground-level and closest to the stage (and the most expensive). Mezzanine is the raised section above and behind, split into front and rear. Balcony (where a theatre has one) is the highest and furthest, and usually the cheapest.
Are there official discount tickets for Broadway?
Yes — the TKTS booth in Times Square sells same-day unsold tickets at 20–50% off, but you can’t choose your show or seat in advance and queues can be long. Booking ahead through a marketplace guarantees both.
Is there a dress code for Broadway shows?
No official dress code — most people go smart-casual, and jeans are completely normal. Some go dressier for evening shows, but nobody will turn you away for what you’re wearing.
Is HelloTickets an official box office?
HelloTickets is a marketplace that compares listings across primary and secondary sellers rather than a single official box office, so it’s worth checking the exact seat location and total price (fees included) before you buy.
What happens if a show is cancelled or a cast member is out?
Broadway shows almost always go on with an understudy or standby rather than cancelling. Full cancellations are rare and tied to specific emergencies — check your ticket seller’s policy for refund or exchange terms if you’re worried about a specific date.
